MIKHAIL WILLIAMSON

Assistant Director and full-time Strength and Conditioning Coach

Mikhail earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degree at Long Island University in Sports Science and Management, and Exercise Physiology and Nutrition, respectively. He also obtained a Master’s in Education from Goucher College with a concentration of Athletic Leadership and Management.

Before Performance Edge, he has performed as a Technical Director for The Jamaica Weightlifting Association where he continues to provide guidance and technical direction for two of Jamaica’s Olympic Weightlifters. He was also the Interim Head Coach for Track & Field and Cross Country at Goucher College, where he focused on the overall management of the team through recruiting and budgeting. He was also the main coach for the sprints, hurdles, and pole vault.

While completing his Bachelor’s degree he interned with the strength and conditioning department and was then hired as an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at LIU Brooklyn where he worked with numerous sports such as Women’s Basketball, Softball, Soccer, Track & Field, and Cross Country, Bowling, and Swimming.

Mikhail worked as an Exercise Physiologist at Definitions Private Training Gyms, where he worked with clients from all age groups with different chronic illnesses.

Mikhail was also the Director of Personal Training and Coaching Education at Spry Training in Jamaica where he designed and developed an educational training program for the other staff members. While at Spry, he provided speed and performance training directly to the players of four National Teams and eight Olympians.

Mikhail is also a competitive Track & Field athlete that competes in the Decathlon for his home country, Jamaica. Because of his love for sports, especially Track & Field, he has spent his time learning and developing his ability as a speed coach.

He is currently a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association and the National Academy of Sports Medicine where he is both a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and Performance Enhancement, Specialist.
