SAMUEL ARTER

Strength & Conditioning Coach

Coach Samuel Arter joined the Performance Edge coaching staff in July 2022. He earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at Liberty University in Exercise Science and Human Performance Strength and Conditioning respectively.

Prior to his time at Performance Edge, Arter served as an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at Shenandoah University where he was responsible for the development and implementation of strength and conditioning programs for numerous teams, including Volleyball, Men’s and Women’s Basketball, Field hockey, Men’s and Women’s Tennis, Golf, Softball, and Track and Field Sprints and Jumps.

While completing his Master’s degree, Arter interned with the strength and conditioning staff at Liberty, where he worked with multiple sports including Field Hockey, Women’s Lacrosse, Women’s Soccer, Softball, and Track and Field.

Also, whilst completing both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, Arter served as an intern on the Performance Edge staff, assisting with daily operations and facility maintenance.

During his time at Liberty University, Samuel also competed as a track and field athlete in the javelin throw while serving as a 3-year team captain for the Flames.
Samuel is currently a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association and the American College of Sports Medicine, where he is both a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and a Certified Exercise Physiologist.
